A room full of these guys will get you to the finish line in a hurry. They seem to ‘just know’ where their energies and efforts need to be placed. And, the rest of the office knows it too. They are right there with you.
Black Hole: Once in a while, at the other end of the spectrum ... is the black hole person. Nothing ever comes out of this staff member spontaneously. In fact, all of the energy and all of the urgency simply disappears. And, you can’t figure out where the tutoring and training and counseling have gone!
It’s like ... “I know I told her that I needed to have the proper set up for the crown extension surgery when we do the quadrant on Mrs. Bates today.” But it’s nowhere to be seen! Every instruction just goes into a black hole and never resurfaces!
Beacon of Light: Also, once in a while, you find a valuable person who glows in the dark. Not reflecting energy, but creating it! Not redirecting urgencies but generating them. The glow in the dark team member is able to restart momentum (even when others have given up).
This type of staff member knows that recharging is eventually necessary.
You will want to encourage recharging.
